  • Encryption: The central element of the technical data protection is the end-to-end-encryption of all shared data. Stored data are encrypted in such a way that no administrator or third party can make use of them. Only the user can decrypt content addressed to him or her. There is no backdoor are key retrieval process.

  • Transparency: It is always transparent who recieves what and how a user is seen by others. There is no need for “privacy settings”.

  • Control: All content on Trustner can be deleted at any time by the user.

With these principles Trustner can be used for commincation in areas where highest standards of confidentiality and privacy have to be met.

For registration the user password has to have eight characters, including small and capital letters and special characters, so that it cannot be guessed or easily bruteforced.

Consent to Data-Handling

By registering with Trustner the user agrees to the collection, prossessing and use of certain user-related data, in order to make Trustner possible, namely:

  • the email address used to register,
  • the user’s IP-address and
  • the dates when Trustner is accessed.

The payment process for the usage of some apps is an example of where Trustner uses the user-related data.

Trustner discloses user data only

  • if there is a legal requirement
  • in case a criminal investigation has been openend against a specified user

When a subcontractor is required to handle user-related data it has to happen in accordance with this privacy policy.

Inviting new Contacts

Users can invite people they know to join Trustner by sending an e-mail invitation.

The potential Trustner-user’s e-mail address is saved until the invitation is accepted or withdrawn. The potential user’s saved e-mail data is not used for commercial purposes and not transferred for use by third parties.

The potential user’s saved e-mail address is automatically deleted when the invitation is not accepted within three months.

Deletion of Data

By deleting your Trustner account, all data contained in Trustner apps will be deleted. Posts and comments are not recoverable.

When certain Trustner apps have additional settings they are clearly marked and communicated.

Because exchanged content can be duplicated by other contacts, it is possible that user content can be found in the internet, even after the deletion of the Trustner account, over which Trustner has no influence.

Analysis of User Data

For the purpose of optimizing Trustner, user data (in an anonymous form) is analyzed, e.g. the number of times a particular Trustner function or app was accessed.

The anonymized data is saved in log files for two years and can be used for statistical purposes. The data can not be used to personally identify users.

Information about Stored User Data

The Trustner can see all user data that are used to run Trustner in the Settings (with exception of the IP address).
